Why People Join.

Anne's Story

Anne is 35 and doesn’t like the clubbing scene.

She joined the Single Connection when she saw a poster in her library.

She got really involved in the club and organised events, especially music quizzes, which she loves.

She isn’t looking for anyone special and just enjoys the social whirl.

Joan

After 20 years of marriage Joan’s husband left her for another woman. She found her whole life had been turned upside down and turned to Relate for help. After a few months she felt better and a counsellor suggested that she join the Single Connection.

Her first event was a walk in the Borders. Although she enjoyed it she found it difficult starting over.

Joan persevered and at a club dinner dance she met, Frank, a widower.

They started dating and after six months left the club to set up home together.

Jack

Jack’s wife died after they had been married for 30 years

He was a very active man and so had lots of friends to turn to.

However, he missed female company and heard about the Single Connection from a friend.

He joined the club and on a weekend break to Aviemore he met Connie and they have now been dating for over a year.
